Every once in a while my screen saver, Window XP's "My Picture Show", appears to get stuck on the 2nd screen. I can log in and use my #1 screen, but the #2 screen has a pixelated image and I can't do anything with it. I can go into settings and switch screens #1 and #2 around and back and it will work fine again.

Fortunately, they are softer halos, which look more like a discoloration than anything else, whereas the halos from PNGs at lower resolution is usually hard-edged and pixelated.
